Handled badly and one-party will feel cheated. The supplier may feel they are offering the earth and are being paid peanuts in return. The customer may feel the supplier has used a period of uncertainty to gain the upper-hand and make them pay through the nose. Good negotiation skills will allow both parties to win and ensure that the agreement helps build a mutually beneficial relationship.
