Course Content
How do I know the course will run on my PC?
Next to each course description you will find a sample button which allows you to run a section of one of the lessons. As well as providing you with an example of the course’s content, the sample is there as a functional test.
Is it possible to tailor any of the lessons to reflect the needs of my own organisation?
The courses can be changed to include modifications ranging from simple visual elements such as the addition of company logos or web links providing organisation specific information, through to re-worked content. Contact us to find out more and to explore this option further.
When I have completed the course will I receive a certificate for my training records?
Yes, you will receive a certificate.
General support
If I have problems with the course content how do I get help?
The two main options for obtaining help on course content are either to contact the course trainers directly via e-mail or to obtain help from the trainers and other course participants via the forum. There are embedded buttons within each lesson which provide links to both of these support options. The forum and a contact e-mail link are also part of this website.
Payment options
How to pay for the course?
SMC have opted to use the PayPal system to provide you with a secure and simple means to pay for the courses using a credit card. When you have decided to purchase the course simply click on the purchase button, follow the PayPal prompts and enter your credit card details. Once payment has been authorised you will be prompted to register for the course and start.
Can I pay by cheque?
Yes, simply contact us via e-mail and we let you know where to send the cheque. Once payment has been authorised we will register you for the course.
Rather than buying a course as an individual can I buy it for my team or organisation?
Yes, simply contact us and let us know how you want to be registered for the course and we will arrange the necessary administration. We can also provide you with feedback on how your team or organisation members are progressing with the course.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if you have purchased the course by mistake or, having opened the course found that they content is not right for you, we will arrange for you to receive a refund.
Technical
What format are the courses provided in?
The courses are provided as browser-based training packages. When you purchase the course you will have access to the content stored on a secure area on our web server for typically six months.
The minimum requirements
The software used to prepare the lessons has been tested extensively using the following browsers:

Some of the lessons include elements which to play back correctly may require Flash, QuickTime or Windows Media - these specific requirements will be highlighted in the course description.
