The foundation for this business to business sales and marketing training is a combination of the insight and expertise of Andrew Sparrow and Matthew Wainwright. The breadth of training provided has been extended by the invaluable contribution of a number of subject specialists.
Andrew Sparrow
Managing Director of SMC Ltd has a BSc in Chemical Engineering and an MBA and over 20 years experience working in the Refining, Petrochemical, Oilfield Production and Industrial Water Treatment Markets. Before setting up his consultancy in 2001 he worked for 16 years promoting the sale of speciality treatment programmes for Baker Petrolite to these industries in Europe. 10 years of this experience was as a successful manager, firstly as UK and then European Manager.
Since starting a consultancy he has undertaken projects for a number clients including: speciality product and service providers, instrument monitoring equipment and precision, instrument monitoring equipment and precision pump suppliers and safety equipment specialists.
Matthew Wainwright
Matthew is a Director of SMC Ltd and has over 16 years experience in selling major multi-million pound business and engineering application software and consultancy services. He has extensive international experience working with senior clients in the UK, throughout Europe, and the Middle East. He has worked with some of the most successful software companies in the world and has achieved the highest sales award at each company he has worked for. Matthew brings a wealth of practical experience in value added solution selling, gained from selling into a wide variety of industries including the public sector, defence, upstream and downstream energy, engineering and manufacturing sectors. His passion is to provide world class sales and entrepreneurship training that is firmly rooted in the practical, yet provides new insight and competitive edge to our clients. He is focussed on bringing the next generation of engaging and stimulating e-learning courses to market. Matthew has an MBA.

Dr Sarah Reeves: Recruitment
Sarah, a consultant for SMC Ltd, brings a wealth of experience gained from over 10 years handling recruitment projects within both Engineering and Pharmaceutical Industry Sectors. Following a BSc and PhD in Environmental Marine Biology, Sarah applied her skills and knowledge to the recruitment industry, successfully managing projects for multinational Pharmaceutical Companies, as well as Engineering Consultancies within the Oil & Gas Sector and Process Engineering Specialists.
Managing these technically biased projects has given her experience of all types of recruitment from sourcing candidates, creating advertisements, screening applications, through to head hunting. Sarah has extensive expertise in the interview process, having both undertaken selection interviews as well as preparing interviewees and interviewers. These interviews have been for jobs across a wide spectrum from graduate “milk-rounds” to Senior Management.
